Does anyone know what can be used to rid the musty order of baseball caps or workout gear? I have tried the hot water and stuff in the washer but no luck. So any advise on the smelly issue would be appreciated.

After they are dry, store them with a dryer fabric softener sheet between them or inside them. This also works with shoes. Stuff one in each shoe and it will draw the moisture out and freshen them. If you can alternate them between wearings so they can dry out in between it’s even better.
Place charcoal in a bag & store the gear there when not in use. Make sure the gear is clean first, just coz the idea of putting sweaty gear in a bag & using it again is kinda gross…although charcoal will remove the odor from eventhe nastiest clothes.
Bamboo charcoal is best, as it can be sunned and used over & over & over & over and…..etc etc but any charcoal will work, you’ll just have to replace it more often.
You can place charcoal inside shoes & overnight it will absorb the odor.
