Do you hate it when people wear Yankees fitted caps just to look cool?
I mean come on.
They should know what they are wearing. When I wear a Yankees hat I wear it because I’ve been a Yankees fan, born and raised in New York, since birth and i fucking hate these posers!

i dont liek the yankees but i see your point, i once wore a yankee hat to look kool but now i dont anymore because ppl came up to me and are like “u like the yankees now?” and i take off the hat so i think ppl that do that will learn

They are posers, but I HATE THE YANKEES, no offense, you probably get that from a lot of Mets and Dead Sucks (I mean Boston, I hate them as well) fans. Why they do that, I don’t know, but they probably think “greatest playoff team ever, why shouldn’t you support them?” The Yankees as we know have won 26 World Series titles, but they’ve also LOST 13 different World Series, the most recent: 2003 to JOSH BECKETT’s Marlins. Some people support whatever team was winning when they were kids, so there are a lot of Yankee fans at my little brother’s age (14) because they won titles in 1996 (I blame Jeffery Maier for that one), 1998, 1999, and 2000 just as kids his age were starting to pick favorite teams. If most of the posers are ages 13 to 18, blame your own team, if they are older, try to find out where they grew up. Celeberties, I can’t answer for them, mainly the rappers (execpt for Daddy Yankee, his artist name says his team in it).
Personally I hate the Skankees so anytime I see their goofy hat I want to hurl my guts up I think the Yankees and their assholish fans suck.. GO RED SOX!!!
seems to be a big urban thing. They make these urban style caps so the thuggish types think they are cool. I see it around Cleveland all the time. The majority wouldn’t even know what a baseball is if it hit them in the face. Like when the kids were walking around years ago with X caps – like they knew anything about Malcolm X. If he were alive he would’ve been sickened by it himself probably. Wearing the caps with no clue as to their meaning, regardless of it is the Yanks cap or an X cap of the past.
I’d never put that piece of junk on my head.

What? It’s bad that your team is America’s ICON? You don’t make a lot of sense. What if instead everyone thought the Tampa Rays were cool and wore those caps instead. That’s BETTER? Your complaint doesn’t make a lot of sense, really. If only die hard fans could wear the caps, you’d rarely see them. There are people who wear caps of all the teams. I’d rather see a lot of MY team’s caps around than the Astros’.

yep, sure do, but that just goes to prove that people dont but Yankee gear or root for the Yankees cause they actually like them, they do it because they are bandwagon jumpers and its in style, especially since that stupid event in ‘01 that got people in this country to actually believe that both New York and George Bush were the greatest things in the world, sad really
I am a HUGE Dodgers fan but I wear a fitted Yanks hat because I like the color black rather than blue and I just love baseball

I’ve seen many people in my area (Northern Va) wearing Boston caps & they aren’t fans either. I wear my Yankee hat because I too am a fan

I am not a Yankees fan in the least bit, but I agree with you on this one. The “NY” logo on a hat has become a fashion trend, as opposed to those who wear the hat because they in fact love the Yankees. Yankees hats are everywhere now, in every color. It’s unfortunate because most people who own Yankees hats only have them because they “look cool” or “match their clothes, ” etc. The legacy of the Yankees and their historied franchise has almost taken a back seat to fashion popularity. It’s sad. In all honesty, I’m not sure if the meaning of a blue “NY” hat will ever return to the meaning it once possessed. Too many poser, too many fads, too much accessability to buy the “NY” hats in other colors and variations.
I’m a die hard Mets fan but I like the Yanks cuz im a New Yorke. I wear the Yanks hat because I rep NY always.
